2006 Garagiste Pinot Noir
The Garagiste label is reserved for exceptional parcels of fruit which in this case was 100% MV6, from the Yabby Lake vineyard in Tuerong. We prefer MV6 for its intensity, firm structure and terrific savoury flavours and aromas.
Fermented in small open fermenters, using indigenous yeasts, for 21 days, we feel this has optimised the tannin fruit-weight balance of this powerful wine.
The components were matured for a further 11 months in small French oak barrels with 35% being new Francois Freres Troncais. The wine was bottled
unfined and unfiltered then matured for a further 8 months prior to release. This wine shows the youthfulness, vitality and reserve that we look for in our wines.
